Mark Pardini '88: Investing in the Community
Alumnus and Board of Regents member Mark Pardini '88 counts his years at SHC as some of the most significant of his life. "My experience at SHC taught me many valuable lessons. I learned the value of standing by my beliefs and doing my best, no matter what the outcome."
While Mark found inspiration in his development as a young man at SHC, it was ultimately the memory of late SHC faculty members that called him to action. Mark reached out to fellow members of the Class of 1988 to honor faculty members that have passed: Steve Wilson, Brother Antonio, Catherine C. Williams and many more. They created the Class of 1988 Memorial Faculty Enrichment Endowment Fund which supports vital professional learning opportunities for current SHC faculty and staff.
"The idea for the fund grew to encompass not only those of our teachers that have passed, but those in the classroom today. We hope to honor the very vocation of teaching itself, especially those who gave of themselves to form who we are today," says Mark.
Ultimately, it is our students that benefit from faculty and staff that remain on the forefront of educational innovations. Mark shares, "In the hyper-competitive San Francisco environment, SHC should continuously look at best practices in education and technology to stay on the cutting-edge. We must be vigilant in keeping our best and brightest at SHC. In this way, we can further attract the great students the City has to offer, and best serve current students and their families."
